‘Tis the Season

Most people in our part of the world welcome spring for the warmer weather, chirping birds and of course, open-toed shoes. But those of us in the agency world, at least those of us at Fahlgren Mortine, get excited this time of year because it’s awards season.

We’ve already had a great start to the year by picking up the Columbus Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year Award in February. But the fun is just getting started. So here we are again, at the PRWeek Awards, in our formal attire, waiting to hear whose name will be called and who will go to the stage.

We’re fortunate to have three nominees this year. We are also honored to be the sponsor of the business-to-business award category. It’s a vertical that’s become a core strength for Fahlgren Mortine alongside our education, healthcare and travel, tourism and active lifestyle practices, and an area we are happy to recognize.

As the festivities get going, there will be laughs, there will be tweets and I’m sure a few new inside jokes will be born. But with this fun comes an appreciation for the work we do, and for those we do it for and with.

We are inspired and driven, not by the recognition – though Neil Mortine does have an affinity for the hardware – but by each other and by the clients we serve.

Awards are about much more than the people who sit around this table in New York tonight, or any table, on any night, at any given awards program. Awards are the result of the work of 200 people – and a culture that likes to succeed, but says it’s okay to fail. They are born in a place where people come together to pursue a creative solution, a place where you know you can rely on your peers to do the right thing and a place where you know that getting to know your colleague, your client and their business is worth the investment.

So as we kick off this season of tuxedos, trophies and toasts, I raise my glass to Fahlgren Mortine, our people and our clients. And, to really great open-toed shoes.
