Fahlgren Mortine Raises More Than 23,000 Meals for Ohio Families

Philanthropy and community engagement have always been a part of the culture at Fahlgren Mortine.

A few years ago, we collapsed three business units into one while also expanding office locations. This required associates to collaborate in new ways, and it wasn’t always easy. During this period of transition, Operation Feed was introduced to the agency, and it was more than a food drive to benefit our local food banks; it was also a company-wide program that reinforced the need for associate integration and collaboration. In 2012, we held our first Operation Feed Week. Aiming to engage associates across disciplines and in various offices, we developed a weeklong campaign with activities for awareness and fundraising. It was a successful initiative (a win-win: we raised thousands of meals and someone received a pie-in-the-face), and our creative efforts were recognized by Mid-Ohio Foodbank, who presented us with their Spirit Award for our first campaign.

Operation Feed is now an annual Fahlgren Mortine community initiative and an integral part of our culture. Our fundraising activities may seem unconventional, but we’ve found a way to make an impact in the communities we work while having a little fun, too. One hundred percent of all funds raised through Operation Feed provide meals to hungry children, seniors and families who need food assistance. We’ve also incorporated opportunities for associates to volunteer at the food bank each year.

Earlier this year, we held our third annual Operation Feed Week. Through the fundraising efforts in our Columbus, Cleveland and Dayton offices, we will help provide 23,392 meals for hungry families throughout Ohio.

Last night, we attended the 2014 Operation Feed community finale event. Fahlgren Mortine received an Award of Excellence from Mid-Ohio Foodbank, which recognizes campaigns with a high number of meals raised per capita and a significant increase in meals raised from 2013. With this photo, we also won the Operation Feed photo contest for the second year in a row.

To date, Fahlgren Mortine offices have provided more than 49,000 meals for our local communities.

As an integrated marketing and communications agency, we’re continually challenged to collaborate in creative ways on behalf of our clients. And through Operation Feed and our other agency causes, we’ve proven that collaboration can also help us make a meaningful impact on our community.
