A Note from Fahlgren Mortine’s Camel/Client Engagement Intern
I have officially experienced my first Fahlgren Mortine Halloween.
Where to begin? All associates were encouraged to dress as themes by department and my area was deemed the heart of the jungle. After a brief discussion it was decided that I would dress as a giraffe. Unfortunately, I put off getting my costume until the evening before, and the closest thing I could find was a camel costume. Regardless, not your typical work day attire.
I was completely blown away by the amount of work and creativity that went into decorating the office, as well as the costumes that colleagues were wearing. I realize now that I shouldn’t have been surprised. Fahlgren Mortine is a place where creativity is bursting at the seams, and honestly, I probably should have seen this amount of effort toward Halloween coming from my coworkers.
The day was filled with Halloween – themed activities, including a “tour around the world” complete with themed food and drink. In the middle of the day was a work showcase, which highlighted recent work completed for clients. It was a great moment for me to see some of the excellent work done by my coworkers. Some of these projects I had a hand in working on, and it was great perspective to be able to see the finished product.
To cap off the work showcase, we were presented with the agency reel – a video loop highlighting some of the agency’s best work. Watching this reel was such a special moment for me, even though I am an intern with my last day approaching in a week – I was so filled with pride in that moment to be a part of this agency. I took a moment to look around the room and at the people here at Fahlgren Mortine, and I realized how lucky I have been to be here for the past few months. This place is special.
The Halloween activities were just one day of fun that I experienced at this agency, and it’s more than just having fun. It’s about developing culture in an employee centric workplace. I’ve never worked at a company that values culture as much as Fahlgren Mortine does, and I can see why this agency has the talented, high quality employees that it does.
I never thought that post-grad life could seem so bright, but my experience here at Fahlgren Mortine couldn’t have been a more promising start. This agency values its employees and clients above all else, and that is rare to find. I am so thankful to have begun my post-grad agency adventure at Fahlgren Mortine with such a wonderful group of people. So Fahlgren Mortine – thank you, for the incredible internship experience, and for teaching me what it means to think wider. I am beyond excited to see what the future has in store!
