COLUMBUS, Ohio (February 24, 2015) – PRWeek, a leading communications industry publication, has selected two Fahlgren Mortine professionals as finalists for its PR Professional of the Year and Young PR Professional of the Year honors. The PRWeek Awards annually recognizes excellence in campaigns, professionals and education programs.
Fahlgren Mortine president and CEO, Neil Mortine, is a finalist in the Professional of the Year – Agency category for the third consecutive year after earning honorable mention last year. Since becoming CEO, Mortine has increased revenue by 62 percent in just five years. His restructuring of the agency into a fully integrated firm and the acquisition of four firms, including the 2014 acquisition of Turner PR, contributed greatly to Mortine’s selection.
Caroline Allan, an account executive in the agency’s Columbus office, is a Young PR Professional of the Year finalist. Upon graduating from Ohio University, Allan joined Fahlgren Mortine as an account associate in 2012 and has since specialized in media relations and social media. The PR Council also recognized her as a young rising star last year.
“It’s a great honor for our team to have two national finalists again this year for the individual PRWeek Awards,” said Aaron Brown, senior vice president, Fahlgren Mortine. “Neil continues to demonstrate how personal relationships, strategic thinking and hard work come together to make meaningful impacts for our clients, people, local communities and the industry. And, he creates an environment where our young professionals can realize the power of their unique impacts. I’m incredibly proud of the path Caroline has created for herself as she starts her career. She’s earned this recognition, and I’m excited for her contributions yet to come.”
The PRWeek Awards judging panel consists of senior professionals from agency, corporate, nonprofit, education and government backgrounds. The judges’ ultimate selections for each of the 35 awards will be presented at a ceremony on March 19 in New York City.
