COLUMBUS, Ohio (June 18, 2013) – Fahlgren Mortine, one of the nation’s largest independent marketing and communications agencies, is fueling its growing Western presence by opening an office in Boise, Idaho, effective July 8, 2013.
The move addresses the need to be within close range of the agency’s expanding client base in the region, which includes Boise-based The J.R. Simplot Company, one of the largest privately held food and agribusiness companies in the nation, as well as California-based clients, including CareFusion. In addition, the office will serve as a base for activity related to Fahlgren Mortine’s goals for broadening the agency’s footprint in the western United States.
John Curtis, senior vice president and managing director, will lead the agency’s efforts out of Boise. Curtis, whose effective start date with Fahlgren Mortine will also be July 8, most recently served as executive vice president at Scentsy, Inc., where he directed all branding, marketing, public relations and social media for the $500M direct-selling company based in Meridian, Idaho. While in this role, Curtis grew to know Fahlgren Mortine well as his agency of record for various Scentsy brands.
Curtis has 25 years of experience in marketing and communications with global companies such as HP, Philips Lighting, American Express and New York City-based Ketchum Public Relations.
“A Western presence has been part of the agency’s vision for some time,” said Neil Mortine, president and CEO, Fahlgren Mortine. “During the past several years, our clients in the region have helped us explore the possibility of a dedicated office and also introduced Fahlgren Mortine to several key influencers. Based on the significant time we’ve spent researching this expansion, it became clear that Boise was a strategic and appropriate location for our first Western office. We’re honored to have a professional of John’s caliber join our firm, and I can’t imagine a better person to represent our culture and help us reach those long-held Western development goals.”
Following the tradition of company philanthropy that has long been at the heart of Fahlgren Mortine’s culture, the Boise office has already established a relationship with The Idaho FoodBank, and will be providing marketing and communications services to help further the FoodBank’s mission of ending hunger in the state. During the past two years, Fahlgren Mortine associates have rallied in support of local food banks via week-long internal campaigns to raise funds that produce meals for the hungry in communities where Fahlgren Mortine has an office location. So far in 2013, associates have helped provide more than 14,000 meals.
Fahlgren Mortine’s Boise office will be located at 1403 W. Franklin St., Boise, Idaho, 83702.
